Need help can someone check something out?

Guys,

Anyone with a 2016 (or 15) JCW - I need you to go get in your car, turn it on, turn it off and get out. DO NOT lock the door or set the alarm.

DO YOU HAVE lights that remain on for a little while?

I have the interior "dome" light, hazard glows, light on the auto gear shift and the start/stop switch glows.

I have not noticed this before but only have had the car for a week. I just did the detector install today so I am freaking out that I screwed something up.

Once you turn the engine off, remove your foot from the brake pedal & depress the start/stop toggle again....everything should turn off.

What happens when you do that?

Nope thats what I did. Started car. Hit the off button once to stop the engine. Foot off brake and hit it again. All turns off except, hazard light, dome light, door ambient lights, engine start/stop throbbing.

If I lock the car everything shuts off. If I get out and don't lock it the dome goes off in 15 seconds, the door ambient lights take 3:45 minutes to turn off and the engine switch and hazard stay lit for 12 minutes.

Without getting a stopwatch out, your last post sounds about right. The takeaway I think is if you want the car totally off, lock the doors once you get out.

Yes and that is fine I just didn't know if others were doing the same or I jacked something up. Always paranoid after doing my radar detector install.

If everyone elses does the same I am totally good and usually do just lock it when I get out.

Mine stays on too. I tried to figure it out for a while then realized all did eventually shut off. Locking does it fast, but living on a small island makes us locals a bit lax on the security thing.

Thanks Kelbo. I just wanted to make sure it was doing what others are doing. I will just lock it as I usually do. I just had not noticed it in the first week of ownership.
