Ok, so I had a new build sent to my dealer why I await my build slot in July... I added the navigation and the hud...I've read in a few post now that the navigation is crappy or a lot of people just don't like it. So I must ask from the current owners that have it... Is it really worth? Or should I just go back to the media package only?
I think navigation is good to have - especially in conjunction with the HUD. I used it extensively on a recent trip as I was driving in areas that I am unfamiliar with - the directions were spot-on and having the directions on HUD is very handy. I had some issues with the user interface - but that's really a matter of getting used to, since I have used it for only a few days. Also - there are features in conjunction with Mini Connected that probably enhance its usefulness even further.
Without the navigation, HUD's usefulness will be diminished unless you are always driving in manual mode and want to be looking at your RPMs and gears.
I would definitely opt for it.

I think before you had to pay for a CD to update, but the F56 doesn't have a CD player. You might ask your SA how it works on the 2015 MINI. I have a feeling you will still have to pay however it works.
Used the navigation and I really liked it comparable to the R56 updated version, the screen is much easier to see and the CPU is very very fast compared to the R56 updated Nav. Most people like the new HUD also.
Nav is now updated on the newer Gen 2 platform with the USB drive and the same on the F56.

Also order the Nav with Connect XL. Just also added a Craven Speed mount for my Garmin GPS to cover any areas that the MINI Nav does not.

I've also been wondering if the Wired Package is worth the money, or just save $1k and get the Media Package. I have no need for the HUD, I think it is gimmicky, but that's just my opinion. I like the big screen, and just have to wonder is the NAV/GPS dummy proof? Guess that's why I have Olga to navigate when we actually, would use this for a vacation. Don't really need a GPS system around Iowa.
