Couple of things about it. The engine looks just like an mcs. Infact it could actually be one as the car is probably just a show car. No jcw branding. The red stripes on the Recaro seat strips look way less red in person. The seats on the show car are not nearly as nice as my mcs seats - they were also really banged up looking (wear badly)
They stripes are nice but they do not look like $2500 with at all.
The doors sills on the jcw street body colored and look painted. They really get scratched from you feet. I. the Cooper S sills look nicer because there is that dark contrast. The jcw's look cheaper.
Which auto show? Since the F56 JCW isn't available yet, I wonder if it is something they threw together to have at the show? If it's that bad they probably would have been better off to not have shown anything.

Toronto. Besides the engine (which I'm not sure on - but one from MINI could confirm either way) I'm sure this is what you get. Check the pics of the sill.

What people don't realise is that the Centre LED ring can be used as a tachometer, the way I use it, so the lines around the LED ring are probably there to make it easier to read the RPM's, just my $.02.

Miniman. That's right. I personally have the "disco ring" turned off but there is a point on the right side where the lines turn red so that would be it. Good spotting!

Yeah that was the first thing that caught my attention when they did the big press release at the Detroit Auto Show (well I also like the Connaught Green with the Red Roof) and when they finally bring out the cars, I'm going to try to get my hands on one of those rings for my F56!

Stay in touch. I may well order a 2016 standard transmission. I'm not loving the ring so may do a swap. :-)

That's a pretty awful looking car IMO. Hate the paint, and the seats are meh. My wheel gap is less than that (17" wheels, but the wheel size has nothing to do with the gap it has to do with the springs). I hope the real fJCW looks way better. I liked the one at the other auto show, the gray one with red accents.

Thanks for your addition to the thread. IMO the coupe is awful, which has its own section entirely. Next time I see an ugly coupe I'll be sure to share that there.

I said I liked the gray fJCW at the other auto show not that green one. What does my having a JCW Coupe have to do with anything? You're doing little trolling IMO.

Look at Motoringfile, they have all the details, some prices of options http://www.motoringfile.com/2015/01/...-jcw-in-depth/. They show that green one with red top a lot (not a fan, it's not the really cool dark green of the 2010 WC50 JCW car that only had 50 imports to the US. That one is pretty cool looking and I'm not a big green fan.). The first pix I saw of the F56 JCW car were a grey/red one that's not easy to find, here's a shot;

I had visited the presentation before of the new JCW, but had forgotten how ugly I thought the color scheme was! UGH!

The UK Configurator is up for the JCW. I priced one out around $36k using a currency converter. The UK has different packages. MINI USA needs to update their Configurator for the JCW.

The silver/red one was the JCW concept released last year and the Rebel Green/Chili Red one is the production version making its rounds at all the auto shows.

I, too, LOVE that silver paint, but I'm sure there's no economical way it could make it into production (too bad).

Not a fan of the green/red look they chose for the JCW, but the great thing about MINIs is there are so many other combinations you can choose instead!

I think it's a combination of the color combo they chose (ugly) and the way some of the pictures turned out.

The green by itself will look better WITHOUT a red roof - it's supposedly close to BRG.

The red is the same red you have on your coupe, TBN

I know, it looks orangish in the pix. It might look better in person, very Christmasy! BTW the Coupe was the only Mini you could get with a colored top (not black or white) that wasn't body color. Now there's this JCW.

Anyone test driven the Audi S3. $5k more if you re comparing loaded to loaded. Super quick 4.7secs to 60mph. Much more refined though. 14 speaker sound etc...Audi is bigger and not as "tossible" IMO. Mind you I haven't driven the JCW yet.

I would get aftermarket if you want to go this way. The wheel gap is not addressed on the JCW and is still IMO a design flaw. Wheels are too small period. Once again the center console bezel has the weird (for no actual reason) lines around it. The dark green color is pretty great with the red roof.
Interesting observations. Thank you for the pics and posting about what you saw. These might be small things, but can be really tough to live with, like the wear of the fake suede seats. I get that it's an auto show car but I drive a lot and would be in and out frequently so I would hate to get that and have a the excessive wear and would go with leather instead now.

Whenever BMW or Mini come out with a new model, the configurators for both USA and Canada seem to be 1 to 3 months behind the UK and Germany. Not sure why the delay, but I expect we will see a configurator for the JCW very soon. I'm surprised that a forum member has not already posted a JCW Dealer Ordering and/or Pricing Guide. I'm under the impression that all the dealers now have them, and in the past typically a forum member has been able to get his/her hands on one and post it well before the new model was added to the configurator.

Just spent about 30 minutes hunting around the UK site. Only found a page describing the car, but no ability to build one. Can you please post the specific link?
Thanks!

www.mini.co.uk, mini range, 3 door hatch, then switch from manual to automatic (transmission) and you will see the JCW available as a choice (assumedly since it's not avaialable as a manual yet)
