Help-looking at 09 JCW. Need advice before I buy.

Looking at an 09 JCW Clubman, it has had the following work done on it. Should I be worried and steer clear, or am I safe? All service done by dealer.

Turbo heat shield replaced
High Pressure Fuel Pump replaced
Exhaust Turbo charger replaced
Timing chain replaced
Tensioner replaced
Aux water pump replaced

Car has 82,000 miles on it.
Car was manufactured in Oct 2008

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

All of those things are relatively common failure points on the N14 motors so I think it's preferable to get a car that already has that stuff done. The only thing I don't see is the water pump/thermostat which is another common failure item.

Do you mean the entire turbocharger was replaced or just the exhaust side? It is possible to replace only the exhaust housing of the turbo which includes the exhaust housing and the internal wastegate. It would not replace any of the lubrication mechanism or the turbine shafts and cold air side. Most dealers don't do this, they only replace the entire unit. There are aftermarket sellers that have the Borg Warner parts so it can be done.

Turbos won't last forever. When they go is a crap-shoot. If they replaced the entire unit then there is less to worry about because the entire thing has less miles on it instead of only half of it being new.
