JCW components
I have an '06 JCW (tuning kit, brakes, springs), and need to replace the front struts. The part numbers I was given by the dealer through my vin: 31-31-6-780-521 and 31-31-6-780-522. I'm curious if there's a difference between JCW struts vs non, since the description I came across mentioned nothing about John Cooper Works. I'm wondering if my MINI was fitted with the suspension kit after port, would the standard Cooper components be listed under my vin, or the JCW?

JCW suspension was not factory installed on your car. Either at port or at the dealer. Do your struts have red springs all JCW struts do.
Yes the JCW struts are different. I think putting normal sport struts on the front will give you an unbalanced set up.
ECS can get you the correct parts. They are a sponsor here.

I am here. Just saw this post.
Yea those are for the JCW Suspension Kit with the red springs.
Those look like the correct part numbers:
John Cooper Works Strut Front - Left

&
John Cooper Works Strut Front - Right

Based on my theory is that the JCW struts are made to pair with the springs and are tightest dampeners out of the suspension offered.
They might still have the JCW logo stickr on them if it has not worn away or fallen off over time.
Thanks

The Koni FSD are not suppose to be used with lowering springs which the JCW red springs will lower the MINI. I would stick with the JCW struts as they at matched to the springs and would perform the best.
Thanks
