JCW includes?

Bear with me, as I am a new MCS JCW owner and no very little about the specifics of the car. I purchased a very lightly used 04 BRG MCS JCW with all the nice options in excellent condition.

The JCW Cetificate of Authenticity is included in addition to all service records since new (this is a one owner car ).

My question has to do with what is included in the dealer installed JCW as part of the package back in 04 besides the engine mods. There are JCW badges on the lower front grille and rear right lower bumper area. The engine badges include the JCW insignias - what, if anything is done to the brakes, suspension and any other careas of the car? I have no doubt about the authenticity of the JCW option but the owner seemed to be in the dark about the other add ons with the JCW option.

I know I am going to enjoy this little gem a lot.

Many thanks for your help -

Steve

Post some pics and we might be able to answer some of this for you. JCW options were
1. Suspension- Springs were red instead of black and lowered the MINI by 25mm.
2. Brakes- Were red and were the same as the R56
3. Aero kit- Usually included front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper.
4. Engine kit included:
  • Machined cylinder head,
  • “Cat-back” sport exhaust system,
  • Improved-flow air filter,
  • Cover injection tube,
  • Updated ECU programming,
  • Engine cover, rear, and side vent badges

Yeah...gen1 JCW cars were dealer ADD-ON kits....but could be done at anytime, or diy'ed...

The "certificate" came with the "engine kit", a pulley on SC (which was coated internally((standard after 2005)), cnc machined head (very little, but a bit on the exhaust side), a exhaust, and a ECU program...got you up to 200HP
Bigger injectors, and and intake came in 2005+ cats, called the JCW210.
Everything else JCW was a-la-cart!!

Here is the dealer install doc for what they do on the Gen 1 JCW kit.
Maybe this will help.
