I didn't see you mention this before...didn't realize you got all those parts. You made it sound like the 2600 was strictly for a tune. Considering a JCW exhaust is about 1000, the intake is around 300 and the rest of the parts are also around 300, that leaves about 1000 for the actual tune...which isn't bad considering the labor involved.

 

I contacted my dealer and was told they do not sell the tune on its own - anyone else check into this to confirm?

 

AFAIK, there is no MINI JCW tune available via aftermarket for the CM. You need to go 3rd party to get that done.

Bummer since I was planning on getting it tuned when I ordered in Spring 2012 when my MA was told it was in development by MINI. Only to find out later it was cancelled due to ROI.

 

Mical, I spoke to Motorwerks. They confirmed that the JCW tuning kit is not available for the CMS, which is inline with official publications.

Btw, I noticed that you say factory JCW tune. I'm wondering whether Motorwerks flashed your CMS with a tune from the factory JCW? Is that even possible (I believe dealer ECU flashing is VIN specific)? Even so, I don't think that would be much of a upgrade?

You say that they installed the JCW exhaust and JCW intake? The exhaust I can believe, but did they not just give you the intake from a factory JCW, which I believe is identical to the factory CMS?

Don't want to doubt you, I just want to get to bottom of this. Thx.
