JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
96518, r56 slick top hatchback, chili red, closetocumming
I'd like to note it's a slick top. Didnt know if this was a JCW thing or what. I have yet to see a MCS at my shop without a sunroof.
Don’t know if there is any particular plan to the optioning beyond dealers adding options to what was already at the high end (JCWs) and the most popular group (I’m guessing that the S was the most popular). Their markup is higher percentage wise on options, so that would be their logic. I thought that the sunroof was always a separate option, but I don’t know that for sure.
Sorry, I didn’t include the roof details as there was never a place intended for that and no one else has mentioned it...
Got it 18 months ago with only 28,000 miles
on it in great condition.
Put on an H-Sport Competition 25.5 mm
hollow rear sway bar, Koni Yellow Sport
shocks/struts, G-LOC GS-1 street pads,
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and Enkei
PF-01 wheels, and a few other extra bits.
Edit: Spoke with Mini USA, appears to be an S with a JCW kit.
The JCW kit parts often have logos where the factory JCW parts do not. For example, the chrome exhaust extensions with have the logo stamped in. The factory JCW version does not. The Brembo front calipers will have the Brembo logo whereas the factory JCW calipers will have the JCW logo.
You can find VIN decoders on this site. Entering the last 7 characters of your VIN will give all the options installed, the build date, etc. If the kit was dealer or port installed, there should be some paperwork attesting to that and the number of the kit. Note that factory JCW parts are not part of the kit and are only available as a factory installed option.

Sorry this thread is for factory JCW’s, not kits. The different engine parts that make up the factory JCW package were never available in kit form. The parlance “factory” is the informal, but common, designation to distinguish from “S” cars with a kit. 2009 was the first year for the factory option in the US, but I believe they were available as 2008’s overseas...
