You'll need:

4 expanding rivets
4 blind rivets
10 hexagon sheet metal screws
5 philips screws
3 washers
3 sheet metal nuts with clips
2 attachment plugs

While not sounding like much, I would be leery not to buy the exact parts required in the kit. I would at least order those hardware pieces from Sewell, as they allow you to order right down to the last screw.

I just had a chat with one of ecstuning representative. He gave me a list of parts needed for the installation. Total amount with the hardware kit included is 208$ plus shipping, . Almost close to sewell price in the end.

Plus you can get a NAM discount from their web price, and you can catch them when they have a sale and it will be cheaper. I wound up contacting them directly and they worked out a great deal for the full kit.

really? I'm still seeing it is $223 with the NAM discount, but that does not include the $50 in hardware.

Well I started the install for this today, and got tripped up by those 2 hidden rivets in the flare by the parking light. I'm not sure how to get those disengaged.

If I remember correctly, I cut the head off of the plastic rivet and pushed it through... I suppose that you could remove the rivet head with a drill. Your kit should come with new rivets to install the new lip.

i may try cutting the head off - i'm trying to do this without having to remove the wheel, and just turning the wheel all the way to get access to the rivets. i can see the first one but can only feel the second one.

few hits with a chisel and hammer, maybe?

i thought about cutting the head off the rivet but didnt want to scratch the paint all around it. the best and easy way is to melt out the center with a solder gun. the tip melts through the center and it simply falls out without all the scratches. it worked awesome! if you do not have one there cheep and you can use it later to connect wires, or just melt stuff

you can get a set of plastic trim removal tools at harbor freight for like 5 bucks that pop these right out with no problems or scratches.

Anyone have a white CM with just the JCW front lip? I'm really considering doing this during the 50+ degree weather we're gonna have here in Denver over the next several days.... I'd like to see some different pics so I get an idea of how the JCW front would look with stock sides and rear.

not the best pics, but you can see the difference.
hope they help

i really like the rawr it adds to the front. i MAY consider the side skirts at some point, but i'm not into the design of the rear, so i'll keep that stock.
.. and fyi do NOT drill out any on the plastic rivets, there's no need to. use a pin punch and push the pin through on the smaller ones, the larger ones, use the removal tool i mentioned earlier. also do yourself a HUGE favor and tape down the 3 screw retainer clips, if they slide after you have the lip up it's a ROYAL pita to get them back into place.

I'm SOLD! ... Looks awesome on yours! I just hope I don't screw it all up trying to do it by myself!

you shouldn't have too big of a problem, it's not that hard to do, but it is a little time consuming. if i had to do it over again, i would pull the front of the car up onto 2 layers of 2x12s to get a little more room and be able to cut the wheels from side to side to access the rivets in the wheel wells. i would have also taped down the screw retainers before i put the new lip up, as i said before once the lip is up it's really hard to get them back into place. also not started at 4 in the afternoon since it got dark on me before i finished, not drill out the fender rivets ( i did 2 of them this way and even as small as you think your drill bit is if you drill out any of the fiberglass then the hole is too wide for new rivets to expand and hold) use something to push the pin through. have a rivet gun available that can handle the larger rivets (the one i had, even with the insert removed, could not handle the larger rivets. during my installation i had to go to home depot, buy a new one that the rivets worked with)

all in all, start to finish it took about 3 and a half hours, trip to home depot and about 45 minutes or so trying to get screw retainers relined up included. do your research, print the information in this thread for driveway reference, leave yourself time to do it, and take your time and you'll get installed fine.

This is amazing! Not to thread jack, but I didn't see an R56 JCW lip on the site you linked, any idea if it's available/possible?

Well, I finally got mine on and the dealer did it.

I had purchased the rear seat protector for 266 bucks. It fell apart and I took it back. They offered another one, but I was worried about it happening again so I asked them about the JCW lip and they just swapped it straight up. So I got the JCW lip and install done for $266.

They had to fix it because the first time, they did not put the pressure lips/air flaps back on. I complained and after arguing, I finally took about 5-6 of them out to a JCW CM on the lot and showed them that they were supposed to be on there.

They finally agreed and figured out that somehow, the lips/flaps are installed on the inside instead of the outside and got it fixed. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Thanks to all who offered help and advice! I figured $266 for the Lip and install was good enough to save myself the time and trouble.

Sorry to hear you had to literally drag them out and show them equipment on the cars they work on. It's incidents like these where we should have a group weekend. Glad it worked out for you.

Installation and lip for 260 is great. I did not know that the dealer would do it. I did not want to do it myself so good to know.
