JCW Brembo brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. No squeaking in reverse and no noise.

I remember reading about how bad the JCW's squeaked before i bought my car. I now have 10k miles on her, and i have never had a squeak from my brakes...forward or reverse. go figure

This is a little random, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to post and didn't feel like making a new thread.

I have a 2012 with the JCW kit added to it. I'm debating getting the 17 inch JCW brakes too. My question is, I have the 100,000 mile maintenance plan, by adding these brakes will that void my brakes part to the plan? Or will MINI honor it because I'm getting the JCW brakes.

Ask the dealer where you bought the service contract. That is your best source for a correct answer. My guess is they will IF they install the upgraded brakes. But to be sure go to the source!

I would agree. I looked into this and was told it would be covered but definitely check with the dealer. If the warranty is from MINI and not a 3rd party it should be covered by all dealers though and not just the one you purchased the contract with.

Mine squeek mostly in reverse and are dusty and at 44K miles, should be pretty close to being worn out. But man do they stop. I did a panic stop at 80mph yesterday and I almost did a stoppie (wheels off the ground in back). I was thinking of going EBC red stuff to cut down the dust. Also I vote for slotted disks. They keep the pads clean and you get perfectly even wear. With solid or drilled, the disks always score.

Back with the pop up roll bar question. I took my MINI to ORP last Friday for a track day. Did three runs then got the meatball flag and was told the roll bar on the 57 would not fly. Bummer for sure. Now talking with the Northern CA Racing Club and the gentleman I spoke with (email) asked about the height of the roll bar when the car turns over. Never have been in that situation, but maybe someone out there in NAM land can tell me how much the rb extends. BTW I have run at Thunderhills (Minithunder) twice with no problems

NO squeak, and now that the wheels are Plasti-Coated black...no obvious brake dust!

Interesting.... just got the JCW on Saturday so I am still in the break in period so I have been babying the brakes. However, overall they dont feel different than my 2006 MCS brakes. I guess once I get up to 200 miles or so (next week most likely) I will start being a little more aggressive with the brakes. I am hoping they are as you guys describe with the head hitting the window feel but currently they dont feel that way to me.
