parts for regular maintainence

Picked up my 06 mcs jcw (stock) with 30k miles and just doing some regular maintainence for now. ordered a bentleys manual so I can try some other more complicated mods in the future. on the list of things I would like to do is: 15% pulley, change s-belt, some kind of suspension mods... but i dont know if ill be able to do those (due to lack of skills).

For now, changed the oil (with amsoil "european" formula) anybody know if that stuff is good? Gonna order a magnetic drain plug... also gonna order a filter, heard the one from mini mania is as good as stocker, and less expensive. Any thoughts? Also, one of the plug wires is chewed up a bit so I am gonna replace all plug wires. Alta has a package which includes magnacor plug wires, MSD coil pack, and brisk plugs. Any benefit to changing out the stock coil pack and plugs? Its running great and I have no reason think there is anything wrong with stock coil and plugs... just wondering if there is any benefit to replacement.

Check the coil for corossion...the stock is nickel plated iron where the wire connect to it...tends to rust, that can be an issue if it gets toobad.
Remember the wires and coil don't really make power, so spending big $$ won't do much...the color of it may make you feel faster...
I shop around...waymotorworks is pretty darn good and honest about what works, and what is junk...have bought a few things over the years from him, and have gotten more than my moneys worth in advise back, along with my parts. (He also sells oem parts at less than dealer markup, and has pretty good shipping rates, even for items like rotors ((flat rate usps on many items)).
Filter, get oem...the aftermatmets tend to have isdues....o-ring leakage, etc

Your brake fluid probably needs a complete change (I prefer ATE Typ200), as does the coolant (OEM BMW/MINI). Tip: Read up on bleeding the clutch slave cylinder before trying it. You MUST fully depress the piston and keep it depressed while bleeding.
