So just to clarify, you started with the TPS Map (Linear Throttle Response) and was disappointed; then you are now using the the non-TPS Map (Non-Linear Throttle Response like Stock) and is happy about it, am I correct?

I don't understand how the throttle response makes the car feel slower once you step on it, I would have thought it only affected the initial response. Please advise. Thanks!

With a standard peddle set up that has a cable directly to the throttle body, your generally left with one expected response for a given position. Push it half way down the throttle opens half way up. Floor it and the TB is fully open.

The MINI peddle doesn't act like a traditional peddle since the car is drive by wire. Peddle position and the rate of force that are applied to will have a varying effect on the engine depending on the map it has. So one map could cause a WOT response from the engine with the peddle only pressed half way down. Like wise a MAP could be written so with the peddle on the floor the engine runs at 1/4 power. Obviously these are impractical set ups but you can get the idea how the MAPS can vary the way the car performs despite peddle position and the rate it's applied.

So just to make sure, are you liking the Linear Throttle Map or the Non-Linear Throttle Map more?

Recently update my configuration to include NM-ENG hi-flow air intake, hot and cold boost tubes, and Forge FMIC. I have also changed the map from Stage 1 to Stage 1 FMIC.

Wahooo! like driving a new car. Added much life into my 5 year old Mini.

been thinking about picking up an ap as well but was unsure whether there would be any improvement over the jcw tune on my mcs-now it seems like it is and I will have to get one...

what modifications are needed to run stage II? I have nm hot & cold boost tubes and the jcw package(intake, exhaust, ecu tune)
