HELP! ADVICE NEEDED. changing tyres, from 205 to 215

hi.
just thought if any1 got any experience or advice.
im thinking of changing my tyres from 205mm cross section to 215mm
reasons i want to do this are. i want a more sportier wider stance. bonus, they are $90 cheaper than 205 tyres too.

questions
1. will it improve the traction
2. will it improve grip in transition, from left to right.
3. will they sit properly on the standard 2009 jcw challenge wheels.

thanks
shams

I run 215/45 - 17's on my 2009 MCS, there are no fitment issues, and I think they add a little something to the handling - that said, the biggest difference will come in the brand/type tire you buy, not so much the 10mm size difference.

I agree. No problems with a Dunlop Star Spec in 215 45 17. Performs and handles better, and cuts the speedo error by 2 MPH.

I'm planning on upsizing to that size when my run-flats wear out. I've only got 14k on them now and I still have 6/32's left.

Running 225/45-17 here...

on a 2010 MCS w/ OEM wheels. No rub issues w Michelin PS2's. Improved braking, cornering. Much quieter and smoother than OEM runflats (the Dunlops). Speedo error reduced by 3MPH at 60-65 so now just a small amount off. The PS2's in the "Porsche" fitment are he lightest of the three choices, and tire weight is same as w/ the OEM runflats though now with lots more stick. Fills out wheel wells better.
