2011 JCW aero kit question

Hi, guys.

I just picked up my 2011 MCS with JCW aero kit installed by dealer today. There are two questions I wonder anyone can help.

1, the fog light waring on the screen. Dealer said in order to fit the JCW rear bumper, they have to unplug the original fog light. Now I have two reverse lights and no fog light so the waring will be always there and they can not disable it.

2. There is no JCW badge on the front lower grille.

Are these problems normal??

Thanks for you help.

1. There is an extra parts kit for 2011 MINI's that goes with the JCW Aero kit that should have the appropriate wiring to make your fog/reverse lights work. They are wrong to say they can't make it work, they just don't know about the kit apparently.
2. Your car is not a JCW just because it has the JCW Aero Kit. That's why you don't have a badge, it doesn't come with the body kit.

Thanks Mtbscott. I talked to my dealer today, they said they are waiting for the new code to program mini's ECU to disable the warning message. Not sure if this is true, but they let me wait for couple months. I will give a update if I have any news. Thanks agian.

Actually the wiring is there for both Rear Fog and Reverse Lights. However, in order to get the fog you lose the driver side reverse light. The fog kit includes the Toggle and Fog lens. Everything else is there already. It's just a matter of plug A or Plug B.

In order the get the JCW Badges you need to have the JCW Tune kit installed. It comes with a certified and registered number plate under the hood and the JCW badge goes on the left side on the rear and one on the lower front grill.

MINI "protocol" is that only the factory JCW earns the badge in the lower driver's side grill. The Tune kit badge should be mounted in the upper grill, passenger side.

Regarding the original question, below are two pics of the 2011 body kit (taken from another thread on the forum) showing with and without rear fog light.

Without rear fog

With rear fog (left side)
