Opinion: When to change spark plugs?

I was just looking at getting some opinions on when to change my spark plugs. I currently have the original plugs and put 30k miles on them. I just had the jcw kit put in and was wondering when I should change them. With the kit, I'm supposed to change every other oil change, which is about 30k miles according to the obc.

Should I change them now cause they already have 30k on them? Should I wait for the second oil change which would be in another 30k?
Or should I change them in about 15k to split the difference?

What does everyone think?

I was in the same situation you were and I went ahead and changed them. It is very easy to do. The do require a 14mm 12 point deep well socket.

I think I'll go ahead and do it then. I may have some questions for you later on. It seems easy enough. Is it hard taking the wires off? Is there a torque setting for the plugs?

The coil-pack on top of the spark plug has a quick-disconnect connector that with a small screw driver will easily come off.

I did not buy the expensive spark plug socket with the rubber plug insert. I use a small piece of bubbble wrap to hold the plug in the socket.

I do not remember the torque spec. It will either be on the furum here or your MINI dealer can give it to you. I also think it was printed on the spark plug box.

Do not forget the spark plug boot grease and anti-sieze for the spark plug threads.

I have a really bad hesitation when I accelerate, but only when the temp outside is hotter than 70 degrees. Could it be due to my spark plugs?Does anyone have advice on this issue?
