I just had a JCW aero kit installed on my factory 09 JCW. I got back the old parts and seems the sills are missing the JCW inserts and I'm missing my original JCW badge on the old front bumper. Are there any honest shops out there any more? I mean really I want my old parts and I don't take too kindly for shelling out some almost three grand for this painted installed kit only to have some jerk rip off the JCW emblems. ARGH. I'm calling the dealer to complain, but point is, I should not have to.
One other thing that bugged me was that they installed the JCW badge on the upper front grill rather than on the lower grill like they come from the factory. On the old bumper it was located on lower right hand corner, I expected not to see it on the new bumper in any other place. Maybe I'm too picky, but I paid a lotta jack to have this upgrade done by the dealership. Then they told me to move it I'd have to pay for the labor....WHAT?
mtbang - It does seem like they could have moved your badge back to a similar location on the new lower grill for the 5 minutes it probably would have taken. And they all know they should at least offer to return all of the old parts.....pretty standard everywhere.
Getting my JCW Aero painted and will be installing next week. I'm looking forward to it.
^well one thing to consider is that the JCW aero kit does not come with new badges. Only the factory car comes with them or the tuning kit, so they probably just switched them over from the old bumpers. And I'm not sure but that might be the same situation with the door sills.
Yeah my dealer told me badges are not included for the JCW aero kit. And as for the sills, they said they get ruined when they take them off. Not sure I completely buy that as I've seen folks have them for sale with their left over parts. Door sills on the aero kit are rubber ones that glue onto the painted sills rather than the old metal strips that clip into the plastic sills.

You only get the JCW badge (updated version now) with the Engine Tuning Kit. The reason is becuase your S becomes an official dealer JCW.
Getting my front bumper installed tomorrow I believe, or the next day. Got the bumper, brake ducts, and the black trim grill painted for $1500 installed at my dealership. Seems a lot for just a bumper, but oh well.
That is true. The JCW badges (old or new version) are NOT included with the JCW Aero Kit 1 or 2, however you do get the JCW sills with the new/updated badge which is attached by the double-sided tape.

You get the JCW badge with the side Flares on the aero kit, since the side flares actually wrap up and into your door sill to help hide a door seam.
Zanary,
Your R57 is looking great I love all the mods. Now that you have had the JCW tuning for a while do you think it has more low end torque than the regular S model or is the kit giving you a high end power

Thanks. I do like my R57 as do my neighbours and friends.
I'd say I've noticed a bit more low end torque, but more so in the upper 2000 all the way up to 5000. What I do like is the lower RPM before the turbo kits in. I recall originaly I'd have the turbo kick in around 1700 or 1800 RPM, then you'd feel the Mini take off. Now I get the same feeling around 1200 to 1500. It's been almost 3000 miles since the JCW Engine Kit, and over 1200 miles since the Brake Kit, and both are awesome upgrades.
As for mods, I'm just about done with all the JCW modes I can think of that won't cause warranty issues, ofcourse the way I'm driving right now (4 months and almost 9080 miles) I'm sure it won't be too long before the maintenance and warranty expires. Then it's time for some after-market mods hopefully.
I still have to install my Interchange Yellow wheel bolts (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...367-post4.html), and work on the the Challenge side stripe (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...65-post18.html), but that's all that is left on my list of upgrades to do right now.

the badge is on the upper left. The upper badge is much more visible
, the lower badge more subtle.
Just FYI, the factory painted JCW Aero kit is no longer available...I bought the unpainted one about a month ago after finding this out, so now the primed kit is the only choice available if you already have your car.
My dealer originally quoted $2820 port installed. When I told them I would just buy it from Morristown MINI (at the time they had a pre-painted kit in my color for $1695 plus $250 shipping), the price dropped to $2200 which I was okay with. Dunno what the dealer pays wholesale for the port installed but obviously they can drop their quote to you.
cost is $2010.00 shipped
Weird, on the pre-painted ???? I talked to three different dealers, including Morristown, and they all told me that they were unavailable, in any color (that was the first week of August) They were having a price increase and part number change at that time, maybe that's why. The primed jumped $400+. and it would appear that the painted has jumped $500.
Obviously, it's now changed again.
Great for you guys....

Well, I dont really see a price increase on the pre- painted jcw aero kit they just added the brakes ducts and the new splitters to the kit, the stage 1 was 1600.00 plus 250.00 shipping = $1850.00 ,the new stage 2 is really 1760.00 plus 250.00 shipping = $2010.00, the difference in price ($160.00) is really the brake ducts and the updated splitter that has been added to the kit.
