JCW JCW suspension question
JCW suspension question
I have a 2007 r56 MCS, with the JCW suspension installed. With the orginal mini rims, the JCW suspension has an aggressive lowered look. I recently added some 18's OZ Ultraleggeras and that aggressive look is gone. For some reason the car looks higher. Is it possible to adjust the JCW suspension for a lowered look? Can I change the springs to lower the car? Any recommendation would be helpful. Also would changing parts of the suspension affect my warranty?
Thank you.
Thank you.
When you put on the 18s did you change the tire size? The "standard" MINI size for 18s is 205/40/18. It's popular to change to 205/35/18 or 215/35/18 both of which will decrease the sidewall height and increase the wheelgap and perceived height of the car.
The JCW suspension isn't height-adjustable, but if you changed the springs you could probably get it slightly lower. The JCW suspension lowers the car .4" over stock while most lowering springs lowers the car .75-1" The JCW suspension probably wouldn't be covered under warranty with lowering springs if any damage was caused by the springs. Also you'd want to get an alignment and adjustable rear control arms to correct rear camber, otherwise you'd go through tires very quickly.
