Port installed options?

I know some options are less expensive if installed at the Port VDC, so I'm just trying to see what options would be available there versus having to be dealer-installed. The options I'm interested in are the JCW Aerokit, Carbon fiber rear diffusor, JCW Sport Sterring Wheel and driving lamps. Also would appreciate any prices on these options installed would be helpful (I don't live close to a MINI dealer).

driving lamps can be installed at VPC and maybe the JCW aerokit. I don't think any of the other stuff can be.

How do you get to choose whether the options are installed at the VDC or the dealership?

Um, if that's the case, why are dealers charging upwards of $3K large to install the S1 kit on newly delivered cars? I have never been offered the option--nor did I know about--of having a JCW 1 kit at VDC, but I will certainly ask my MA and others in the know. I'm almost 100% certain it's a dealer-install now (altho one can buy the discounted parts for about $1,700, install themselves, and pay the dealer the labor charge to flash the ECU.)

I know things like stripes and factory aerokits are VDC installed. Driving lamps and other bling are generally dealer.

My point exactly. You really can't, because the VDC is also an extension of the factory. Check the configurator: VDC is pretty much responsible for the correct working order of all items thru step 4 (inc stripes.) When U go to step 5, the disclaimer pops up to tell you that yr dealer sets the total costs of Mini Motoring Accessory (MMA) installation, inc JCW. The JCW S1 kit is listed a $2,100--which is msrp. my dealer quoted me $2,300 total. some folks get quoted more....

So Im skeptical when someone claims they had a S1 kit installed at the VDC, because it is technically a MMA whose price and product is controlled and distributed by the dealer. I have heard of folks installing it themselves tho for about $1800 give or take a dime, guess it's not that hard.
