JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
Can someone give me info on the 2005 JCW engine? I'm looking for how its different from the S engine. Horsepower numbers? I'm seeing numbers from 200 - 215hp.
I believe the difference is that Stage 2 got an air box, with the JCW logo, that has a flap that opens at 4500 rpm
for better breathing as well as larger injectors and a re-program of the ECU.

YUP ... it was introduced for dealer installs in October 2004 and included in the factory JCW Package available from November 2005 onward.
My 05 came with a JCW tag on the engine, intercooler, JCW airbox and exhaust, as well as JCW badge on the back. Think its stage 2 or GP....? And whats GP stand for? The PO said he paid an extra $6k for the JCW pkg. Not sure if its true, but....
GP is the name for the limited production run JCW GP cars only 415 came to the US. Very unique cars see my sig. 6K is about what it would have cost for the JCW kit install by the dealer.
