JCW front bumper

OK, since I have asked a few people and cant seem to get a direct answer I thought I would just post the question as a topic: where and how can I get the JCW front bumper (only, NOT the whole JCW kit!), ready to go (painted)? Is it something I can go to the dealer for, and does anyone have a price or a range I should expect to pay for it? thanks

I ordered just the front from my dealer, you just have to go in and specify that it's for an R56, you should have no trouble.

Does anyone have any idea on pricing of the JCW front bumper for R55/R56?

DeRingerad,
I bought the whole kit, sold off the parts that would not fit the clubman, big mistake. 5 months ago I was given the price of $630 for the front bimper. I can not remember if that was painted or not. I think it was because Chili red is one of the colors that are prepainted at the factory. I would say that if your sales person is not a Mini Nut, got to the parts guy and become his friend. He is the one you will nedd for this and maybe for future mods. My sales guys are great, but I reley on the parts guy and the techs in the back even more. The tech installed the bumper in no time at all.
Good luck with your car,
Larry

are anyother bits necessary to install the front jcw cover? IE: foglights, brackets or seals?
I am thinking of doing this if my car ever arrives...
Thanks,
John

Has anyone installed the JCW aero kit on an '09 clubby?? If it's possible; I'm wondering why it's not listed as an option on the configurator.

The only item that has any relevance to the Clubman is the first item/link for the Front Bumper. The other two are for the R-56 Coupe and don't apply to the Clubman.

MINI will not have a JCW Aero Kit for the Clubman until the first quarter of 2009.

The R-56 Front portion of the JCW Aero Kit can be sourced from the RealOEM link.

Although the part numbers and drawings for the JCW Aero Kit Clubman side skirts appeared on a Spanish web site (by mistake) a few months ago, they aren't available. However, you can change the stock Clubman side skirts and install the factory Aero Kit pieces, and paint them as shown in the thumbnail.

The part numbers for the factory aero kit side skirts are:
Left door sill cover 51 77 2 756 825
Right door sill cover 51 77 2 756 826
Door sill cover primed, Left 51 77 2 757 763
Door sill cover primed, Right 51 77 2 757 764
There's also a parts book drawing for these pieces in the other thumbnail

I think the rear of the Clubman (S or JCW) is fine as it is, and doesn't need upgrading

Have you had the bumper installed yet? If so, did you run into any problems with the install?

I just got a quote last week for the front bumper and all the miscellanous pieces for the front end. It came to a total of $824.57. I am guessing around $200-300 to have it painted. I was also quoted 2 hrs for the install at $122.56 per hour. It looks like I'll be doing the install myself unless I can find another dealer with better pricing.

Call Jayson, Paul, or Steve @ Classic MINI 1 800 388-1098, ask for BMW, ask for Parts. Classic is in Mentor, OH and provides a 20% discount off MSRP for NAM Forum members. Or email @ bmwparts@classicautocampus.com

I just ordered all the pieces for the front bumper portion of the Aero Kit and it was just shy of $500 plus shipping (around $100 because of the size)

Your dealer likely does not have it's own body shop, so find out who they use and go direct and save since they will likely have a lower labor rate as well.

Good Luck

Charlie

From the dealership... *just* the front bumper, painted PW cost $503.00. When I picked up the bumper, didn't know the [FONT=&quot]accoutrements (black trim pieces, fog light inserts, mounting hardware) were not included. That cost an additional $188.00, for a grand total of $691.00 out the door. Was going to order online, but with $100 shipping it was a wash.

Installed it yesterday and took about 1.5hrs to complete. I searched NAM and found a intercooler replacement thread which had instructions on how to remove the front bumper.

Forgot to add... they charged me $200 to paint it PW. I bought it from Knauz Mini in Lake Bluff, IL. They have their own body shop which services Benzes, Land Rovers & BMWs in addition to Minis. Crappy PIC of post bumper install.

For those that have purchased the parts in the last month; do you have a list of part numbers I will need? I have some conflicting part numbers between the quote I got from a dealership last week and what I obtained from someone who purchased parts for this mod some time ago.

The JCW kit is available and you can buy just the front bumper, we just picked up our complete kit. We are painting our own parts. Find a good local shop to get the paint done for you.

By what I have learned, the Aero I and Aero II both fit the same bumper. Aero II is 2" long, Aero I is only 1. So you have to replace the cover in sets. My 2009 only needs the left side but it is unavailable, which is what I bet you have found. I am going to replace the pair with r & l aero II. Both available. I have them on order and unless someone has misled me, I should be finished by next weekend.

Can you post pictures of your aero 2 lips on the aero 1 bumper? The aero 2 bumper has some item that seemed to support the lip. See picture.
