For $1000 bucks, I'll put a suspension in anyone's car, and I'll have a cold case a beer waiting for you to drink while you watch! (and it wouldn't include alignment either ) For that, you'd have to go Tires Plus, just down the road, $49.99!

I spoke with MINI of Sterling about the JCW kit and was also quoted 12 hours. I laughed so hard at the service advisor that I almost fell over. Talk with Dan from Mach V motorsport, dan@machv.com. His shop is nice, they seem to know what they are doing, and he is always willing to work with NAM folks. FYI, the front sway bar is quite difficult to install, and involves removing the front wheels, bumper, subframe, etc. But, MINI warrenties the JCW kit regardless of who installs it, for one year, so it makes sense to use Mach V motorsport. They are going to do my JCW rear sway bar when it comes in.

MINI of Towson quoted 5 1/2 hours, plus alignment if needed.

Back when I started this thread - I was royally ticked with MOS and their tactics. So, I shopped around with several places and settled on Autotecnica. They are located out in Manassas near the airport. I was quoted 3-4 hours including alignment at $72/hr. My total bill was less than $300 - and they did great work.

Some of the shops took advantage of my gender in various ways. MOS appears to be non-discriminatory in some of their underhandedness.

I purchased the suspension for $700 (with shipping) from Mini of Morristown back in December. I do want to clear up some of the mis-information on the components. The JCW suspension for the R53 comes with 4 struts, 4 springs. It also has 2 rubber "bumpers" for the lower control arms that are only used on 2002-2004 years. You don't get a sway bar with the R53 - only with the R50. (which is why it costs more). The existing suspension needs to be dis-assembled and those parts are re-used with the new parts.

I also had the rear polyurethane bushings from Mini-Madness installed - the best $75 I spent recently.

I will be having Autotecnica performing my other upgrade work in the near future. BTW - http://www.automotivecoupon.com/

And yes it comes with larger front and rear sway bars...1.5mm larger front and rear bars over stock bars.
I believe they are called "Bump Stops" Guess mini calls them "dampers.

Anyone know why the JCW Suspension is now listed at $1,036.00 at Morristown Mini?

Bor - you are 100% correct. However, the correct answer is "42".

The $1036.00 pricing should include the coil springs as part of the pricing, what the parts website is saying is a bit confusing.

Unless you really want to do coil-overs, I think the JCW suspension is a good alternative for street driving. It's intentionally not a race/track suspension.

Morristown MINI did my R56 JCW suspension for 4.5 hours, $500. All parts including springs were $1000. Alignment was $200. Total $1700

Thank you very much for answering my questions guys... really do appreciate it.

Can some of you guys post pics of your cars with the JCW suspension on there? I intentionally didn't get the sports package so I could choose an aftermarket suspension. However, it looks good, I really like having a completely JCW tuned car in mind.

Thanks for your input flaco... I was thinking of going with lower springs, but it's probably not worth it if the shocks bottom out like you are experiencing. If someone could past a pic of the JCW suspension with JCW springs, that would be great.

Ok, now that I think about this, I may be confusing this with another install. I'll need to check my paper work and see what is what. Until then, I'll refrain from commenting.

UPDATE: Nah, I got screwed. I paid $2205 for my JCW Suspension including installation.

So this is your car with full JCW suspension with JCW springs? If so, I'm set! That looks absolutely fantastic! Your ride is exactly how I plan to set mine up...

No, that's with Mach V springs. The first photo is JCW and to tell you the truth, you won't notice much difference in appearance unless you get higher profile tires.

They're starting to carry mini parts, which I'm very happy about. I've gone to their Aberdeen location and my very good friend Arno works there. They just opened a new shop in Lorton. They're about 20 minutes away from down town DC. www.ngpracing.com

I know this thread is kind of dated but I figured I would offer an alternative to the stealership.
