Any Guess On JCW Kit 1/4 improvement

I realize the Cooper is not a drag car but it seems the consensus is the JCW Tuning Kit mainly helps on the top end. I would like to hear from JCW owners a guess of how many tenths the kit would reduce an E.T in the quarter. My car should be arriving in a few days and I already have the JCW suspension and am ready to install it. I am coming from a 2005 Steeda Mustang so I am wondering if it is pointless to add the Tuning Kit. If it helps
3 or 4 tenths that would be worth it but if not I think I would pass. I would rather race the car 5 more times at track days rather than gain a tenth for 2000.00 dollars. I hope no one takes offense to me trying to quantify the kit but it seems the only way to get this info is from people who have experience because the specs they give mean nothing to me.

Throw on a filter and unbolt the catback..similar gains for 1/2000th of the price!

I would think

I would think the kit would give you 2 tenths in the quarter.

I am thinking the same as I am coming from at SRT4 that does the quarter in 13.5. The cooper will take some adjusting too

If it helps, I did not run my car stock. I am in south florida. 65-70 degree weather. I'm a pretty good driver so I've been told.. My best 60' was 2.1 and my quarter 14.4@95 with and open cone and dropped catback... stock is supposed to be high 14 low 15?

14.4 that's impressive

14.4 is an encouraging time with minimal upgrades. I would be happy if the JCW got the car to 14.6. As I stated before I am not looking to win any drag races but rather know what to expect for all types of racing. I would have to lean towards the 2 tenths estimate that was posted above so maybe I'll have to find one to drive before making my decision. With only 2 tenths improvement the intangibles of the kit will have to be noticeable.

Two at my dealer

There are two at my dealer. I ordered the kit today but would like to drive one. Wonder what the rules are on driving a new jcw off the lot?

i guess you need to ask the question first of whether you will truly utilize all of the power of the JCW upgrade as modesly evaluated by MINI. it's real, but i don't know whether it's worth the money....at least it's warranted....consider whether any of the vendors of aftermarket will warrant your car's engine and other parts and have the resources to fix it. i have the jcw and rarely approach its capabilities and I drive fast. if you go to the track that's a different matter, but how many of us really do that on a regular basis. if you do, you should know enough to decide among the options available outside of MINI. always ask, "do I really need this and will it bring me more happiness"?

Everything I'm hearing about the JCW kit is saying that the nasty drop seen on the Dynos between 3k and 4 k is gone with the kit and more top end. There is a post on Nam with a HP and Torque figure , if I remember right the HP is 204 HP and Torque is 206 ft/lbs that's not bad over stock about 27 HP and close to same on ft/lbs - a car that weighs about 2300 lbs to 2400 lbs that's a fairly good increase and very seat of the pants feelable (that's a word ?) I drove a JCW demo at the dealership and found it really feels great. Mine was finished install on this past Friday Nov. 16th - But I'm having two scratches fixed from lot damage. Won't get car back till this coming Tues. - Can't wait !!!
