JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
Mini Configurator this afternoon began listing various JCW accessory options that people have been salivating for.
maybe by now my local dealer will have some clue as to what I am talking about when I ask questions about the JCW kits! I am definitely being critical but it also attests to the power of the online community. All MINI employees should be encouraged to get involved online. While they may have to filter official from unofficial information, I think it is much better to be informed.
I plan on doing it and have the sports suspension. It won't be a waste of $500 when I get the JCW suspension in a year or two. I should have at least 20k miles on it by then. If you plan on doing as soon as you get your car then yes it's a waste of money.
Is the JCW suspension worth the cost? Or am I better off buying my own and installing it myself?
If you are gonna install the suspension yourself anyway, buy the JCW from Morristown MINI. It's only like $1100 from them. That will save you $400 to $700 depending on how much your local dealer tries to charge for installing it.
The JCW suspension is getting really good reviews from the folks who have it installed. The nice thing is that it is custom tailored to your MINI based on the options you have installed. It's not just some generic, one size fits all type suspension.
