Removing stripes on an older MCS?

I have an 02, and I've been thinking about replacing or changing the style of my bonnet stripes. However, given that my car is an 02, and is also red, I'm afraid of fading. This won't be a big deal if I simply swap my stripes for new ones because I can just put them over the area where the old stripes were, but moreso if I change the stripe style. Has anyone removed stripes on an older Mini, and particularly one that was red?

I don't think you can generalize by brand of car. It's more what the car has been exposed to. But, I would guess, even if it was garaged and cleaned all the time, there would still be noticeable fade.

I have never done it but have seen posts saying that for easier removal you can heat the old stripes with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive

That's what Mighty Stripes told me. I think the bigger issue is the fade.
