Interior/Exterior boot stripes, to cut or not to cut
well can't decide to cut or not, and now it started to rain real hard in LA so can't do it this weekend now. probably gonna cut it, tho. will post pix when it's done. thanks for all the help!
Replacement JCW badges are about $150 a piece - for just the one rear stick-on badge, and you can't buy just a replacement piece of the die-cut double-sided tape either.
I believe that the JCW badge is replaceable with some double sided 3M tape. For some reason the price varies depending on where you get it, but the Cooper S badge is around $20 at the dealer. I have no opinion - I think it looks fine either way. Cutting it makes Mike cringe like nails on a blackboard so he includes it in the purchase.
Mike did tell me not to cut it. It is hard to get the angle perfect and to cut it just right. I'm sure people have messed up and had to order more. Somebody said cutting the stripes looks DIY. I couldn't disagree more. I think it shows off the badge and looks more finished. I don't think it looks bad either way but it just looks cleaner to me with the badge all on the same color. If you want the easier route don't cut it. Removing the badge, put on the stripe and then installing a new badge is by far easier. I really like the no badge look too. I removed all the badges off my last 3 cars. I'm a big fan of the clean booty look. I just really like the Cooper heritage and couldn't bring myself to remove his name.
