Interior/Exterior Free Stubby Antenna
Free Stubby Antenna
Free Stubby antenna. Just take wire clippers and cut the OEM antenna where the rubber part ends, black sharpie the white core and you got yourself a free stubby antenna. I never listen to terrestrial radio just satellite, but when I tried terrestrial, after cutting the antenna, seemed to pick up local channels just fine – maybe if it’s a weak signal it will have more trouble, but for me doesn’t matter. Also I cut mine ½ inch above the rubber so I could stick an antenna ball on the end.
Jeremy, that is what I did to SF. Side note: Get an '04 or earlier antenna, the rubber part is shorter, so the stubby will be like 3" or so.
I just don't like the look of that little space without it there. but I agree, it does work fine without.
