I don't know if it's just me, but I can't stand the noise the wind makes when I open the sunroof. Anything over 40mph is deafening! I had a T-top, Targa top, convertible and even a motorcycle, but none was as loud as the MINI sunroof!

Someone, please tell me there's a way to fix this!

Thanks,
Ray

Roll one or both side windows down a bit. That reduces the noise. I don't find it that loud anyway.

I was told that the sunroofs on the MINI were going to do that, and that is one of a few reasons why I didn't get it. So sorry, I can't really help you there. Good luck.

I'm with you! The wind buffeting noise is intense in this car...and it's all due to vanity!!!!

The wind flaps create the horrible turbulence noise. Try driving up to speed, then push the two flaps down. Voila! It's WAY quieter! When I've got some free time I'm going to remove the flaps. I already checked with my local service advisor and she saw no problems with removing the flaps in terms of seal or operation.

Davebret,

What does vanity have to do with the wind noise?

I've also tried pushing the flaps down.....it is quieter, but sometimes creates some serious booming in place of the wind noise....

Let us know how the flap removal procedure goes!

Crack the windows (both) about an inch like ace suggested, it will help with the air pressure (booming) in the cabin, but won't make it any quieter. The H/K is good for that as Mini-Matt suggested.

I am looking forward to someone coming up with an after market windscreen for the front of the roof. I'm a little surprised we haven't seen one available yet.
