I took mine off, yes. The residual glue left over helps hold the gel decal in place. You might end up with a bit of residue, but it's practically invisible. I had to use a Exacto knife to lift the red sticker out of the "S" - it's made of that metallic sticker stuff like the registration stickers on a car, and simply flake and tear if you try to peel them off.
yup they sure do! i took them off today. not cause it doesnt look good.
but i was afraid that the gel one would stick to the oem ones.
maybe ill put them on later. im just gettin paranoid. haha
thanks for the info imagox

i cant imagine those stock red ones can be expensive from a dealer.. worst case scenario... get new side marker vents!
i took the oem S off... believe me, it sticks ALOT better without it, i had the bimmian ones for a short period, but they were coming loose
and best method of taking the oem ones off? blow dryer

Hey guys I just got back form AMVIV. Just about sold out of these new decals.
In order for these to look good you need to remove the OEM decal first. Heat them up really good with a blow dryer and they come right off.
To replace the OEM decal you will need top buy the whole assembly of the Side Marker. They are $80 each.
But fear not sir!If I can make the domed Side Marker in any color than I can make an OEM replacement as well
I will working on making these for the intercooller as well but I doubt I'll get to it until after MOTD.

Mike, something to consider for the intercooler decal:
I think it would need to be "fatter" than the gel ones you made for the badges with a sharper egge/point on the bottom of the "S" in order to look right. Unlike this set of 3 (which sit inside a chromed bezel) the "S" on the intercooler is RAISED and FLAT withuot any sort of edge or border. that being the case, I'd think that you would need to either :
A: Make the decal flat and cut to the precise outlines of the intercoller raised shape or
B: If domed, it would need to have a "border" or some other visible "edge" in order to make the shape look right.
Just my $.02. Honestly, I think that selling the set as "3 domed gel inserts" for the badges + "1 flat decal for use on the intercooler symbol" would not only be simplier to manufacture, but might actually look superior in the long run.

Unless you scratch it with a tool removng the gel decal, you should be fine I bet.
