Blockage to radiator with 4 driving lights

I just installed 4 Hella 500s driving lights with outmotoring brackets last night, 6 hours of installation, everything works fine... Anyway, my club mentioned that I might wanna install some temp gauge since it's blocking the radiator.

worse comes to worst, I will just take out the middle 2 lights or something in the summer.

Will this issue (blocking the radiator) be a big problem in the summer? or is it just very minor?

Thanks.

I've been running the Alta light bar with four 7" IPF lights & have seen no difference in my running temp at all. I've been running this set-up for 2 years now, it's cool in all sense of the word.

Air blows around them when you drive, its when you're sitting that you have to worry about the heat rise, and in that situation you're the same as any other MINI out there. These comments about overheating are unfounded paranoia that spread into larger myths. FYI there was a MINI that ran with 8 supplemental lights without any issues caused by the lighting, and that was in TN where heat and humidity are ample, I also know many in FL that run 4 lights on the lower grille without any heating issues.

I think part of the paranoia was caused by MINI's warning regarding the magnetic grille badge holders. In the instructions, they're specific about not mounting more than two badge holders, unless you have driving lights, then you're limited to one badge holder. I can see badge holders being more of an obstruction though, since they're right up against the grille opening.

That's cool then (no pun intended)~ But I will install another temp gauge in the summer just to be sure.

I'm running four lights across the lower grill, and have not noticed any difference in cooling. Mine are the smaller lights, don't know if that would make a difference.

When the designers of the 07 mini were in town testing a guy testing the new engine cooling system came over and talked to me. He asked if I had any cooling problems (middle of summer 110+ degree out), I said "no". He said he didn't think I would, but not to try it with the 07's.

Be warned though that on MINI2, BMW said they would not warrant cars with 4 lights below because of exactly this issue

You pay your money and take your chances.
