I actually posted on this once...and can't find it (I too have many jobs, and go to college...) But approximately the stock S hood weighs about 3x the weight of a real CF hood (one made by Germans that is totally CF, not just CF laid over resin and glass.)
cheers,
cheers,
Any ideas how much it runs?

The weight might depend on manufacturer and design.
I recall the M7 CF MCS bonnet was about 19 pounds.
From 2003 a basic search reveals
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=14407
$799 for the MCS with a rough difference of 16 pounds.
In post #27:
1. Weight stock hood no lights or flares.......... 35lbs
2. M7 Carbon Hood same config.............19lbs
Here is one for $638 (MCS)

In post #6 Dopamine says the CF bonnet is not that much lighter than the stock MCS bonnet.

Actually, I think onasled said that the CF hoods that are commonly sold (CF layer over resin and fiber) offer little weight saving over stock. Real --completely made of-- CF hoods are very expensive and offer significant weight savings, but push the lbs/$ equation very hard into the red zone. So CF hoods that cost less than $1k are very much a bling thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
