What do the standard seats look like in a Mini? Mine came with the sport seats and I have yet to see a Mini that had the base seats that were standard equipment on the MC. Or at least I don't think I have. If anyone were willing to post a picture that would be great. Thanks in advance. Bruce in KC.

My 2002 Cooper had leather "regular" seats. I prefer the sport seats of my 2003 MCs, which hug you through the curves.

I ordered my MC specifically with the standard seats as my previous car's seats were more similar to the standard seats and when I took a long test drive in the sport seat my back hurt..so I ordered the standards and like them....no slidng but I have cloth seats so not slippery.....I saw on the miniusa site that the 2007 has no option for the standard seats to have cloth, so I guess i'll need to get used to sport seats on my next MINI

I agree. I drove a base MC loaner while Magoo was being serviced. I can't believe how much better the sports seats are.

I have the black octagon cloth standard seats, and they look good. No sliding with cloth. Here's an image from MINI:

I specifically wanted black cloth. I would have gotten sports seats if they were offered in all black cloth, but it is not offered in the US (but available in Europe and elsewhere).

I haven't had a problem with my standard seats. They're perfectly comfortable on long drives and through the corners, but that's just my opinion.

I have the sport seats and while the back is very comfortable and has loads of lumbar support, I find the bottom seat cushion kind of uncomfortable. The beveled portions on the sides take up too much of the lower horizontal portion of the seat. And it's not like my butt is that huge or anything, just the way the sides dig into my upper thiegh that leaves me a bit uncomfortable after a long drive. I think if I had to do it over again I would skip the sport seats and go standard.

I know I'm a little odd, but I actually prefer the standard cloth seats. On a long trip they let you move around more, and I like to change position a lot. If I sit in one place too long, my legs go to sleep, because my BP is like 90 over 50. On the track, I'd rather have the sport seats, but hey, life's a compromise, eh?

I actually wouldn't mind having cloth rather than the leatherette. I like the leatherette, but cloth seats would be more comfortable in extreme temps.
