Interior/Exterior Scratched door handle fix.
Scratched door handle fix.
Is your door handle scratched? Especially the vertical one that goes up at a slight angle. Mine was getting worked over with ring and watch scratches probably from the wife. I ride a road bicycle and we wrap the handle bars with bar tape so I got to thinking.
I found some that is black, no logo and no glue or sticky back made by SPECIALIZED BICYCLE. It is super stretchy and I started from the bottom, went up overlapping about 3/4 of each pass. When you start you have to overlap the end and pull tight to get the stretch of the tape to hold the tape it overlaps. At the top I electrical taped it to hold in place then went over it with the supplied finish tape that was supplied. It actually looks pretty good. I did not want to paint it and I could always go buy one if I messed it up. It’s a 14 buck fix and the black matches the door panel just fine. One box of two roles will cover 4 sections of vertical handle. Cut one role in half for two doors. Sorry no pics.
