With the rally lights being a $400 option, and the fact that they dont come on unless the highbeams are also on (what I've heard), I was thinking of adding my own set.

I have seen the ones for $355 with PIAA's on MiniMadness site (I think). Are there any other kits that are cheaper, but still good quality?

Thanks,
Erik

Purchase the lights of your choice (PIAA, IPF, HELLA, CIBIE, etc) and purchase the factory mounting bracket kit from your dealer. Brackets are about 50 bucks

After just mounting a set of Cibie's on mine, I can recommend buying your own lights. However, I wish I had purchased the whole mounting kit and not just the brackets. I made a separate circuit as I didn't want the lights controlled by the high beams. Then I found out the factory kit also has a switch in line so you can cut the lights off, if you don't want to run them, when you have your high beams on. Contact Brian at ClassicMini to get the parts (you can get a discount if you mention MCO).
