So has anybody towed a mini or mini S yet 4 wheels down? And if so, what kind of equipment did you use?

Do you mean "broken down" towing or "I need to move all of my cars" towing. I have not done either but this is how I would approach the dilema:

If it is broken down then get a flatbed truck (I think the MINI warranty covers this and most auto insurance will cover it for ~$10 a year) and save the wear and tear on the machinery.

For moving put the tow ring in the bumper and drag it with the local SUV/ tank BUT you probably need a "steerer/braker (breaker? )" in the car since the tow ring is not centered in the bumper.
my 2 cents

I hope the auto gods look favorably on my MCS and it will never need towing

i don't know if i would recommend a tow this way, it is probably best to do a tow with all four wheels on the auto transport. you should check out the auto transports uhaul has for sale.
