I have a 2003 mini with the mini brand clear tailights. the bulbs have a blue hugh to them and are soldered into the board. I de soldered them so I could replace then. one of my bulbs has burnt out. I noticed I can get silver sar with the same coating in amberbut not red. Has anybody else found a suitable replacement for a red colored bulb for the clear tailights?

the auto store wants to sell me LED bulbs. I tried them and could not see any difference in the light output between tail and brake.

besides I kind of like the blue hugh it is kind of jewl like. and no other car really has tailights that look like that.
