Power Socket in the boot

Does anybody have that part # for the OEM power socket (like the one in the boot)... and where would one find it in the boot. My 05 MCSC doesn't have one...

Why don't you just get a female 12v DC cord from Radioshack for like $7 and wire it up yourself?

cheap, fast, and works just as great.

I bought a socket from Radio Shack and installed it in my parcel shelf. For the
boot, since I have an '03 which did not come with the socket in the boot, I
had the dealer look up the parts and order them because I wanted the original
look and the lighted ring around the socket. I used a fuse line to the battery
and hooked the light to the left rear running light wiring. Both sockets look good
and work like a champ. Sorry I don't have the part numbers.

I know, I said for a year I didn't have one in the convertible. But guess what, we do! I was doing a VERY good job of vacuming the trunk and found it! Stick your head IN the trunk and look back at the lower lip. It's mounted back there facing into the trunk. I.E. on the left in the vicinity of below the trunk hinge aprox. If you stick your head in and look at the normally not seen back edge of the car near the trunk floor you'll see it!

Did you look on the very back of the boot compartment on the driver's side of the car. You may be in for a surprise, my MA told me that my 2005 MCSc did not have either but it is right there. Stick your head in the boot and look to the backside. If you are not looking for it you will miss it. All 05's came with the power socket in the boot. Also, it only works with the key on. I keep my 12v cooler in the boot on long trips.
