Front Fenders with Scallops?

I was wondering what ever happened with the front fender project that someone was doing here. They actually created some scallops in the front fender that mirrored the front wheel arch. It looked great but I cannot find the thread anywhere.

It sort of looked like this but way better and all one cut instead of two seperate ones:

Am I going crazy or does anyone remember that?

Thanks,
JBravoMC

That's hot!

Anyone working on a hood with louvers over the wheels like a sports-racing prototype?

Yes we do have the "vented" fenders in production and the first set has been made and will be sent out to a certain lucky NAM member for dimensional testing next week....
I will have price and delivery schedule by early next week.

Some of you has asked about the deleted washer bottles, and the answer is
a soft-bag washer bottle from Nissan trucks.

I like the louvers on the hood, but not so much on the fenders. Just not right for the MINI. Kinda reminds me of spiderman. Dont know why, but it does...The Louvers on the hood are scary lookin! (in a good way) I wonder if they'll make 'em in electric blue...

they are actually CF, and can be painted (as pictured) they have already installed it on an EB with white stripes.

You can't say what is "right for the mini" though, so please dont make comments like that

You could cut out corresdponding slots in the plastic fender liner and add a bit of screen to keep debris from blowing down the side of the car. This could allow
for air to excape the fenderwell. To what degree of effectivness will be debated for decades I am sure

Fiberglass will be the standard offering. Other materials may be offered in time but that is not certain at this moment.

Not to complain, But I delt with more than my fair share of fiberglass body parts and most we a night mare. I'm not doubting the quality, but how well or how much work do you guys estimate to get near factory fit back.

I feel your pain but the composite shop we are using for this project turns out pieces that are very close to paint ready. I have not seen one of the units as yet so I can not comment on the quality of this particular item at this time. As for making them out of some other material say metal you wouldn't want to see that price tag. We are trying to keep this as affordable as we can because when you add up the cost of the units, the paint , prep and the install this is not going to be a cheep mod. This is also the reason we will not be supplying the bottles . There are a variety of solutions to that issue and it will be up to the individual's budget as to how he would like to solve it . In my case I will just be giving up the bottles as I really didn't use the washer system.

So, this mod does conflict with the stock bottles (xenon and windshield)?

Any weight loss from using fiberglass? I assume yes right?

Yes the washer bottles have to be removed entirely. The fiberglas will weigh less than aluminum but minimal. You will most likely lose as much weight taking the bottles out as you will with the change in material.

The driver side bottle, including lines, all full was good for 9.5 lbs, a decent chunk I feel. I lost mine a while ago, and have a thread here somewhere on it... Oh, that also includes the removal of the Xenon washer lifters, which might as well get removed also.
