Shift Light! Anyone done this?!

You've got to check this out! Somehow this guy's integrated a shift light into his tach. Anyone know how to do this?

some guy in europe was doin 'em, but you have to send him your stock tach, and then pay hime like 180 dollars or something. there was a thread around here somewhere. I guessin the bars dont light up so you know when you pass 6K rpm and 7K rpm. but I never understood why the lights light up that way, shouldnt they lines light up as you pass the lines?
