Disabling Auxilary Driving Lights

Hey everyone, MCS Newbie here.

Before i get involved with performance mods im doing some small rice mods with styling and such.

Im trying to disable the Auxilary Driving Lights (Daytime Running Lights) or whatever they are called by MINI.

To be more specific, I dont want any lights on unless i turn them on manually. Also, it would be nice to disable the Parking lights up front which are basically the turn signals lighting up when the Headlights are switched on.

I searched google and this forum and didnt come up with anything. Any input or links in the right direction is appreciated.

Thanks

The dealer can reprogram your car so the DRLs are not activated. It can't be done by us.
The only way to disable the parking lights is to remove the bulbs.

Note: Auxillary Driving Lights are the chrome ones added to the front - they only work in conjuction with high beams.

Eric is correct. Also, disabling the parking lights might be a violation of your local state laws, you might want to check on that. You could end up with a "fix-it" ticket.

Thanks for the input fellas..

i guess im spoiled with having a VAG car. i had a VAG-COM where i could make those types of changes through the ODBII.

Is there something similiar for our MINI's? Like a cable w/ windows software to install on our notebooks and interface with the MINI ODB ? If so i think it would be worth it so i can disable the DRL's as well as check CEL's and stuff.

One word ... NO (although they have been "working on it")
