Interior/Exterior Steering Wheel Cover
I got my cover from wheelskins.com. Great leather, it has held up well and I like it a whole lot better than the feel of the basic steering wheel.
It did take longer than advertised to stitch it on. I used the double ended thread instructions to create the baseball stitch look and it was worth the extra effort.

Excellent question. I don't own the camera that took that picture or I'd go out for a real closeup to show you. For now, I have to say it's somewhere between pie crust and flat. Definitely not flat, though.
If I had ordered the MINI instead of grabbing what was on the lot (and I LOVE it and how I came to be it's owner) I would have gotten the leather steering wheel. The composite material really feels bad to the touch.
I'm totally happy with the feel of this, and don't really feel compromised by the lack of flat over the spokes. I wish it were flat. and perhaps with more experienced stitching it could have laid more flat. But that waxed thick thread is really tough to work with.
It took two of us almost 3 hours to do it. We developed a system however and felt we could do it again in half the time. But they advertise a half hour. No way.
So the question remains, if I were to wrap another steering wheel, could I get it perfectly flat, knowing that is the goal? dunno.
hope to have a closeup photo for you, maybe this weekend

LaurieJean, don't go to any trouble on my account to post a photo. I got the wheelskins cover too and am satisfied overall, but mine doesn't lie flat either. It's not perfect, yet it's a big improvement. It's a quality feel and I like that it made the wheel even fatter.

No pic, but I bought an inexpensive foam rubber type cover for my PS/B MC from Schucks Auto Parts. It's mostly black, but it has 3 sets of 3 close-together silver indentations, which I have set at 12:00, 4:00, and 7:00. It looks REALLY good w/ the overall color scheme of the car, in fact my motoring advisor even commented on how good it looks. It makes the wheel quite a bit fatter, which took some getting used to at first, but now I really like it. The grip is excellent, especially when doing the radical curvy stuff. The fit is not problem. It stays put, but I can move it around any way I want, and it doesn't get anywhere near the MFSW buttons.
