MINI2 is pretty extensive but for an 06 you'll have to adaptit becasue of a few ne body panel layouts.

For a lot of things, you don't need to actually remove them:

Or, ShankRabbit has a great write-up:

Pretty easy.

1st - Remove your shift ****, by pulling it straight off with lots of force.
2nd - Remove trim around shifter by pulling it straight up.
3rd - Remove two screws that are in the base of the little cupholders below center console.
4th - Remove the two torx screws on the side of the left downtube.
5th - Removet he two torx screws on the side of the right downtube (these also may hold the cupholder in place).
6th - In the hole that was previously covered by your shift boot, reach underneath and push up on the mirror adjustment piece. This is tricky to do because the mirror adjustment piece is held in place by 6 copper pieces.
7th - Once you remove the mirror adjustment piece, you are better off just unplugging it completely to get it out the way. Then, remove the two screws that are now visible.
8th - You can now remove the whole console in order to slide the downtubes out the bottom.

I didn't get past 1st base cuz I have an automatic and this seemed to be a problem follow.

I have an automatic too. It comes off the same way. Just pull straight up. Brace yourself against the roof.
