Interior/Exterior anyone ever put a passenger side door handle on the driver side?

anyone ever put a passenger side door handle on the driver side?
my car was broken into last night. access was gained by popping the dirver side door lock out.
I am going to get this repaired, and I'm considering putting a passengers side door lock on the drivers side so get rid of the lock on the driver side. has anyone else done this?

Perhaps you can get the handle/lock assembly from a right hand drive car if you can't just flip a passenger side handle. The E46 group would alter the door handle/lock and install a blank cover in but the design of that handle allowed that to work, the Mini looks to be a bit more complicated unless you can just use the handle cover. Good luck though, let us know if you manage something.
