Airbag Light Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I installed my Sparco in my 04 with a 3.3 OHM resistor with no problems. I just took delivery of my 06 and installed the very same resistor and when I turned the ignition on the damn airbag light was on. What gives here?. Did MINI change the resistor value for the 06s just to screw with us?
If anyone has installed aftermarket seats in an 06 and NOT had problems with the SRS light PLEASE let us know what you did.

Driver seat or passenger seat? I know that the trick won't work for the passenger seat due to the seat occupancy sensor, but don't know about the driver seat

I am worried of this happening to me as well if I go to install aftermarket seats in the mini. I have an 05 MCS. But i should not be worrying about that as my air bag light is on with the stock seats. Eric at helix tried to reset it for me, but it kept coming back. So when I go to the dealer to have the mini serviced soon, I will have them look at it as well as a few other issues with the car. But as Barnabas stated, the 05's and 06's come with an extra harness for the occupancy sensor to turn on or off the passenger air bag. Not sure if this will effect the resistor mod or not. I have posted a few times asking if anyone has installed racing seats in an 05 or up mini and no one has responded. Keep us informed of any news!

It's the drivers seat. It has exactly the same connectors as my 04 - yellow for the airbag, blue for the seatbelt tensioner and black to indicate the seatbelt is fastened.

Hmm...well then the resistance values might be different.

Yes - but how to find out? Someone must have done some research originally to find that a 3.3OHM was the correct one for the 04. I don't want to put an ohm meter on the airbag as this could trigger it (not fun)
