Hmmmm I'd be interested to see how this turns out as the one link I could find with all of this has just been eliminated (Chows what build date month/year is your MINI?)

Guys, as someone tried to explain in an earlier post, this is a painfully simple answer that doesn't need any complex analysis...

Here goes:

* Is the analog speedometer located in the center of the dash?

If the answer is YES, the car will have a digital speedo.
If the answer is NO, the car will NOT have a digital speedo.

Whether the speedometer is moved to the steering column via the chrono pack or the Nav makes no difference whatsoever - the analog speedo is not in the middle, so you won't have the digital speedo. The OBC also makes no difference to whether or not you have the digital speedo.

This basic rule applies to ALL 1st gen MINIs... R50, R52 and R53. I have yet to hear of an exception.

Believe me, I've exhausted this determination some time ago. I was very disappointed because even though I have the analog speedometer on my steering column (thanks to the factory Nav), I still want the digital speedometer to be available as an option, but I haven't found a way to force it on. Very annoying. I wish this were somehow easy to select in a "test mode" or something.

Sorry if my earlier post caused some confusion (I claimed digital speedo is lost with OBC). Z-Mini pointed out my error but some of you may have missed it, and Edge's post is a good explanation of the situation.
