What's the offset on those babies? They look perfect. I'm planning on et35....but fear that i should really go with 32's or even 30

For reference, this would be a +23mm offset (in the front). This is with stock camber.

The offset is +38mm in the rear.

nah not at all....

I'm worried about it not looking good a 7 inch wide wheel with et 35 or 30 would have absolutely no problems on the inside....i have 7 inch wide et 40s that have no problems and they are closer to the inside.

thanks strom!! do you have any more shots that are more straight on pointing at either the front or the back? they 35s look pretty reasonable, not much poke....maybe i will need to get 30s to poke

I don't, and I have a different setup now. I can try to get that setup back on and take a few pics. I'll also take a few pictures tomorrow of the current setup (+35mm front, +38mm rear). Also, keep in mind that those above are 215/40-17 tires.

They actually poke a fair amount.

I've had 5 Rabbit GTIs and loved the look of the wheels pushed right to the fender flares. I wanted the same look with my MINI and just installed the wheels over the weekend. They are BBS RX (17x7.5 ET35) with Kuhmo Ecsta SPT (215/45/17).

the wheels are kerscher kcs. he sold that car a couple years ago. I'll try to find out what the width and offset the wheels were. I know he ran 205/40/17s though

How did he do that? That would look sweet on my Chili Red MCS. I wonder how much that costs...

What determines how much offset your car can handle? What is key to the euro look, smaller wheels and slammed? I was looking to make my CR/W MCS fairly euro but not go too overboard. I really was going to start by replacing the stock grill with a color coded(trim surrounds which are chrome on stock grill) aero grill, I was going to drop it on H&R Coilovers, or KWs. Keep my r90s yes or no? other than that i have no clue where to start...

Beautiful! If I had done DS, I hope I would have had this much taste. This is (IMHO) the most 'Euro' MINI I've seen.

I've never cared for the painted headlight surrounds, but it works on dark silver. That shaved bumper (filled middle grill) is also sweet with the frame painted (moderately rare) aero grill. Again, I've never been a fan of those wheels, but it really makes for a well put-together look.

I think of Euro as 'smooth, understated and performance oriented'.... Shaving the headlights and door handles, filling in un-needed seams, stripping away the flash of chrome and emphasizing clean lines and flow of the car.

The MCS above is a great example of what I think 'euro' means... look at how he blacked the side vents and greyed the "S". Someone who doesn't know MINIs would look at the car and go "Hmmm... Nice MINI. Are those wheels aftermarket?" where someone who knows our little cars look at it and keep finding little surprises like the side vents, the tinted side reflectors, the painted-frame aero grill, the shaved front bumper, the painted headlight trim, the mono-color tint, the body color roof (fairly rare for MINIs), the body color wheels, the Oracari air scoops, the slight drop in the stance of the car, the wheels that are slightly offset more than stock... Touches that are well made / implemented and build to a complete vision of the car as a low key, stealth, performance machine.

IMHO, if you take any of these ideas too far you can cross into the 'Euro tuner-boy' category... pushing the wheels so far out that you can see where the fenders are causing tire dammage... dropping the car so low that you can't drive over a speed-bump, etc.

To me, 'Euro' means that you are focused on 'business'... handling, braking, aerodynamics and overall performance... and that you emphasize the styling and geometry of the car and de-emphasize the flash. There is also an element of balance: that straight-line speed, handling and braking are ALL important... but that's just my opinion.

couldnt agree more with granger. to me its about understatement and business.

anyone ever seen a rear plate shaven on a mini? i'd like to see a bodykit that moves the plate to the rear bumper cover and shaves the license plate recess. i think that'd look totally pimp. i guess we'd need poppers to open the boot. but i think it'd be so cool.

The beltline really does set the car off. I need to re-do it some time though. there are some little slivers of chrome showing in spots...

this is more tuner style than euro IMO. just cause it has a smoothed bumper, doens't make it euro.

definitely euro. the stretched tires, stance and "BBS like" mesh rims certainly do the trick.

looks real good.

That's also a pretty good example of 'stretch'... Look at the way the tire reaches out to grab the edge of the rim (tire width is smaller than wheel width) and how the rims seem to poke out a bit from the tire.

It is a combination of things that give Sam's car the clean look, not just the bumper. I just posted it because the title of the thread says "Show me your shaved..."

i would agree on many levels.....and so would the owner

But it is very clean, and could take a few easy steps to make it full out euro.
