JCW Shift **** Feedback...

Do any of you guys have the new JCW shift **** (Carbon Fiber One)?? I gripped it at the dealership and it was REALLY nice! Far better than a Whalen at only $140.... But I want to know if it is just as good/ how do people like it compared to stock/ etc.

Thanks

a MOMO on ebay like the JCW typically sells for $60 or so. I have been watching them lately.

im not sure of what a JCW **** costs... (Probably too much, like usual)

I was incredibly dissapointed with my Momo a few years back on my Cooper. Poor fit and it just didn't feel near as well as the stock MINI **** i my hands. I eventually gave it away.

The JCW **** on the other hand is larger and (for at least me) works with my larger hands. That said I'll probably stick with the factory wares for now.

BTW you can read all about the JCW shift **** here: motoringfile.com/2006/02/06/new-jcw-products-us-release-install-info/ (half-way down the page)

Was it too small??? Not Solid enough??? Why didn't it feel good?? I have like small-medium hands, so I like a nice ball shifter or a Really nice gripping handle (Hence the Whalen and JCW as my top 2 choices)

Any input on sparco shiftknobs?

Yes - too small and the shape didn't work with my hands. But if you don't have largish hands that may be less of an issue. Also the model I had was taller than the stock **** once installed. And it didn't fit quite as well on the base shifter as stock (to be expected though). Finally, the materials felt better in the hand with the stock ****. Which of course is odd since the Momo has nice textured leather and real aluminum vs leather and chromed plastic.

I dont think you can really group all MOMO (or Sparco) ***** into one since they make so many different styles. Yes, some are small, but some are also big. Some are light and some are heavy. Here is one that looks a bit similar to the JCW for only $77:

vs $129 JCW:

I have a MOMO **** that is bigger than stock and feels very nice and solid (thought I decided I didnt like the extra height of this particular model) I'm sure though that they all feel different and it is really too bad that you really cant test them out somewhere first so you know what you are getting.

They're just hitting dealerships now so I would doubt many actually have them yet.

Are you using the "new math"?

If so, I'd like to see the formula that helped you to arrive at a $175.00 savings.

I just got the JCW Shift **** two nights ago. My cousin picked it up for me from the mini dealership. It fits properly, feels good, and looks good. Its not like the aftermarket crap that looks cool but just doesnt fit right. The JCW has oem quality and the aftermarket look, i love it.

Hmm.... i have yet to see a MOMO or a Sparco in any car that qualifies as crap.

I see crap as the fake MOMO ***** avaliable at Autozone.

Also, the MOMO "Gate" or any of the "Combat EVO" line of ***** are identical to the JCW **** and run about $85 dollars new.

it must be a very specific taste, I cannot imagine liking the look of this JCW shift **** but then again it goes with all the other JCW interior "crap" so at least they are consistant

I just got my Whalen last week and wow, beautiful...
