That's odd - my Whalen was only $130. Does that mean Doug paid you $45 to not use his ****? That's a pretty good deal if that's the case.

Its all prefrence, I dont like the look of a huge chrome ball (whalen) in the middle of my car. I have been turned off to most aftermarket stuff becasue of some things that just dont fit right or say they do more than they actually do.

if you have no chrome package inside the polished whalen would indeed stand out quite a bit...

I like my JCW shifter ****

I bought a carbon fiber/leather Works shifter **** 2 days after I picked up my '06 MCS. It looks nice. I perfer it to the stock "ball" shifter ****. I wish it came without the WORKS logo, but...it fits! No mickey mouse adapters or plastic sleeves. I still miss the black leather/red stitching MOMO shifter **** I have on my '85 VW GTi. Worth $129.00( or $103.20 from Classic Mini) ??? Maybe. -Bob

I like the MINI "ball looking" shifter ****.

That JCW shifter looks too tall and odd.

thermal conductivity...

I have had it w/ metal shift ***** as they are either HOT as hell or COLD as ice (a pain in the ***, make that hand.) I fitted the JCW **** (it happens to match the dash) and much prefer it to the 8 ball honker that came on my car. It is ergonomically a well designed & functionally a very nice shift ****. Cost $120.
Anyone need an MC40 desk bobble?
In all my years driving BMW's none ever came w/ a metal shifter. Come on Mini!
