I'm not sure but I thought I'd read somewhere that you could chorme plastic parts. I was thinking, why not chrome the high wear parts like the silver painted grabs in the doors(just the bar part not the oval part) and the two silver painted bars in the center consol.

Anyone know if this is possible? If so would it be relatively affordable(say less than $200) and what would need to be done to the plastic to prep it for the chroming?

Questions questions question...

There is a place in Ohio that chromes plastic. my friend had the mirrors and door handles (exterior) done on his 99 turbo beetle.

Great! So I'm not going mad. I guess I'm goingh ot have to get out the Yellow pages and call up a few plating shops and see what It would set me back. Thanks vdubdoug
