Need to remove my driver seat

Does someone have instructions or pictures of what it takes to remove the front seat? I have an issue with a rattle under the front seat - I think that there is something lose in the (I think its a) heater vent, it is a plastic scoop, perhaps some change got in there, so now whenever I'm driving spirited, in hard cornering I hear something sliding and rattling around from side-to-side and it's driving me crazy!

Any ideas of how to get at the part of the car to inspect would be
appreciated.

My MC is a '03 so I don't know if anything has changed. But, all I needed was a Star Torx (I can't remember the size) socket. There are four bolts and 2-3 connectors. Then it pulls right out. Getting it back in and lined up might be as pain. Just put bolts in loose until they are all in then torque.

On my 05 its just 4 torx screws (T30 I think... not too sure) and 4 connectors (I have heated seats)

Don't turn the ignition on while the connectors are loose, or the airbag light will need to be cleared by the dealership.

One more tip: While the seat is out, make sure the fore/aft lever doesn't get disengaged. Once the seat rails are no longer in relation to each other, it can be a pain to get them back just right while reinstalling.

Good tip, I've taken out my front seat twice (installing an amp under the seat) and its a pain once the rails don't match up.

You need a 40 torx tool to remove the bolts.

old topic, i know, but how did it turn out?
I am converting the mini cooper into an ice cream truck and need to remove the passenger seat for the rest of the season.
I'm thinking I should mark the rails to help line the seat up again. any problem with leaving the seat out semi-permanently with the seat airbags?

mini has non heated seats.
