Help needed with radar detecter install

Okay, I admit it -- I am lousy at anything related to installing anything in my MINI, or any car for that matter. So, I just ordered my Bel 995 radar detecter, and the direct wire cord.

Does anyone have pics or instructions for an install? I want to hide the cord and I have heard that I can put under the headliner and down the column. However, I have no idea how to do it, how to make sure it has power and how to make sure it is properly grounded.

Thanks for your help.

How are you guys fishing the cord from the roof liner down the pillar and into the fuse box area? Do I need to remove the pillar cover?

you really should remove it along with the knee bolster or parcel shelf and the side cover on the dash to ease in installation.
